Sardinia’s best kept secrets

Sardinia is very popular with Italians and tourists alike. But there are still some beautiful hidden spots, not yet discovered by tourists. Let us share these gems with you.

Sardinia is an Italian island in the Mediterranean Sea, just below the French island of Corsica. There are the most stunning beaches. Beautiful countryside. Sunshine most days, and little rain during the Summer. What else do you want? Introducing the most beautiful spots of Sardinia.

Sardinia: sun, sea and beaches

Being an island, Sardinia has plenty of beaches. The water is incredibly clear. The beaches are stunningly white. The Northern Costa Smeralda is the most popular, but also the most crowded. If you’re after something more peaceful and relaxing, you’ll have no trouble finding the beach of your dreams. Don’t miss La Maddalena Archipelago if you love beautiful beaches and countryside. This archipelago consists of 7 larger islands and dozens of smaller ones.

Road trip

If you do not want to stay in just one place, or are getting a little bored with lying on the beach, hire a car. You can get from one side of the island to the other in only a few hours, via beautiful winding roads. The countryside is green and hilly, dotted with impressive ruins. And plenty of traditional small Sardinian villages. Don’t miss Alghero, a medieval city: it’s like stepping back in time.

The weather

In Spring and Autumn the temperature rises between 20 and 25 degrees. However, in the Summer it can get a lot warmer: >25 degrees.

La dolce vita

If you like Italy, you like the food. Sardinian food is a little different to the usual Italian food. But worth trying! A typical Sardinian dish is ‘porcheddu’, read: roast suckling pig. As well as great cheese, and some delicious desserts. Enjoy!
