Glamping in the dunes

Description

Description

(Sun, Sea, Beach)

Just a 10-minute walk to the beach and in the middle of Nature Park ‘Het Zwanenwater’. This is a small scale holiday park and unique in its kind.

You can either stay in a tipi tent, beach-or dune lodge. All with their own private bathroom, toilet and kitchen area. Back to basic, glamping-style.

The rule here is: don’t plan anything, just relax and enjoy. It’s all about the experience. Sand between your toes, cooking on a wooden stove and the wind through your hair. It is a relaxing family holiday you do want to try!

Glamping in a tipi tent

Camping with your own (outside) toilet and shower. And your own kitchen! With a two-hob gas cooker. A cool (washing up) basin, made of stone. Making coffee the old fashioned way. All with a touch of hip! This was our campsite! And we had so much fun. Even though the weather was traditionally Dutch 😉

When we arrived, we were welcomed and shown around by the Zon Zee Strand ladies. Who have everything under control. A nice personal touch!

Next stop. Our tipi tent! Cool! Including our own little garden. With an outdoor fireplace. A picnic table. Comfy lounge chairs. Inside was even better. Great styling! The kids were running around. Yes, they were running around. This is how much space there was. A small breakfast table and chairs. A lounge area with lots of cushions and sheepskin throws. We spent quite a few evenings lounging here, watching movies (there is free WIFI!). Glass of wine. Candle light. And thick mattresses with even thicker duvets (and a cute nightcap for the kids). Candles everywhere (which they supply, as well as all the firewood and matches you need!). And last but not least…an electric fire. Which we did really need but made the tent only cosier.

And we haven’t even mentioned the cool bike and beach cart (‘bolderwagen’) you get with your tent – free of charge! Which you can use to explore the area. More about that in my blog ‘Relaxing in Callantsoog, with kids‘.

We are definitely coming back (including this non-camping mummy!). For more glamping! And more playing (there is a trampoline, swings, football area, kids entertainment). And to enjoy a latte. There will be a (coffee) lounge bar on the park soon. And winter-proof lodges. Watch this space!
